Replenishment tasks often occur in facilities that need to regularly move goods from bulk storage to forward pick locations. These waves are linked to the picking waves.
After a pick wave is constructed, the replenishment wave ensures that the necessary inventory to support the picking will be in the forward pick locations. The replenishment activity can run parallel to the pick and pack activity.
The system ensures that the pick tasks cannot commence if it has a dependent replenishment pending, reducing backtracking of personnel to fulfill an order.
